Re: Poltergeist
I've always been leary of remaking the classics.. But if the remake is bad (IE. Apes) then it just goes away and rekindles an interest in the original.
curses
I do have to wonder if there is concern about "the curse" that seemed to follow the other films. I think it's hooey myself, but bet there are those who don't.

Re: Poltergeist
Ever hear of the Macbeth curse? One of shakespear's greatest works was undermined for the better part of three centuries because of a rotten string of luck. Some say the same thing about the role of the Joker in batman lore (though after the recent death death of Ledger...its easy to see why). People looking to rationalize things with a paranormal explanation...nothing more.

Re: Poltergeist
Poltergeist seriously messed me up one night after watching it as soon as it hit cable. I seriously had major nightmares.

Re: Poltergeist
Poltergeist was the first movie I went to see in the theater alone.. I would have been around 12.
