The new V has a date...

The invasion begins November 2, 2009.

Casting News: Actors from the classic V will be used. Not as their classic characters, but as new supporting roles. /

I wonder if they will get Robert Englund and Marc Singer...

Word has it that indeed classic V actors will show up in the new V. I doubt they will be playing their classic V roles though. The new V is a complete reboot not a sequel. Thus classic V actors will be playing new supporting roles. Not unlike Richard Hatch did in Ronald Moore's version of BSG. Hatch played classic Apollo and then years later played Tom Zarek in Moore's version. So yes Marc Singer, Robert Englund, and others are likely to show up. Though I should point out that Kenneth Johnson (classic V creator) has stated he plans to follow up his novel V:The Second Generation with a V big screen movie. Johnson's novel and proposed movie would are sequels to the first classic V mini-series. Johnson's projects should not be confused with the new V coming in November.

"V" has been good so far, I hope the ratings will hold up for more than one season.
