How did having possession of the Narada affect Klingon Technology?

The data obtained by the Kelvin's shuttles scanner sweeps of the Narada helped accelerate their technology to a point, and influenced the new Enterprise.

The Klingon's had this vastly superior ship for 20+ years (Narada was disabled then captured after the Kelvin slammed into it) at their disposal before Nero escaped with it. It kinda makes sense when Captain Pike mentioned the majority of Starfleets vessels were too busy dealing with the Klingons.

Thoughts?

More than likely the influence was minimal due to the fact that Klingon infighting and power struggles made coordinating any studies problematic. Plus, this was Romulan Tech augmented by Borg tech from over 130 in the future. The Romulans probably did not understand all the systems.

The scans from the Kelvan's shuttles probably influenced the Federation to make its capital ships bigger and the whole organization more military based. Note, Captain Pike, when trying to get Kirk to join up, called Starfleet a humanitarian and peacekeeping force - not an exploratory organization.


One more thing to consider, Klingon technology was already ahead of Earth at the time of Captain Archer. This may have been how the playing field was evened out.
