Whovians Unite!
This is going to be the official thread for all things Doctor Who (DW), Torchwood (TW), or Sarah Jane Adventures(SJA)! Yay!!
New TW coming in July! If you haven't seen the trailer, you MUST.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-RsdkaIihA
It's a five night serial entitled "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and it's looking promising.
Also, the new companion for series 5 has been chosen! Her name is Karen Gillan. She's a relative unknown, although she did have a part in "The Fires of Pompeii" last season. (She was the redhead soothsayer that followed the Doctor and Donna around Pompeii in the beginning)
So who is your favorite Doctor? Let's talk about that man from Gallifrey!

Re: Whovians Unite!
We'll probably want to create specific forums for the "big names" in each genre, Doctor Who definitely being one of them, but until then..
I can't choose a favourite because I think of the doctor as a single character, but I am partial to Peter Davison. I have a least fav, though, but I won't mention his name.

Re: Whovians Unite!
I'm rather enjoying 4, but 10 is the first Doctor I really got into. 9 was my first Doctor, though.
lizabitty, we should find a youtube of that bit with Tennant and the TARDIS on Graham Norton!

Re: Whovians Unite!
You NEVER, NEVER, forget your first Doctor. I love them all (mostly...not sure, but I bet JFSTAN and I are thinking of the same guy), but Tom Baker is my man. Tennet is wonderfull though, It pains be deeply to think he will leave the Police Box for "ligit" work.
Peter Davidson was GREAT as well, all who fans need to check him out. Also, I want a cricket outfit.
I liked John Pertwee (kung-fu grip and yellow buggy included) and the first Doctor is really clicking with me too.
Okay.... Sylvester McCoy was crap. There. I said it. I feel good about it.

Re: Whovians Unite!
Tom Baker is always who comes to mind first when someone says "Dr. Who" but they were all good for one reason or another.
Bigger question is who was your favorite companion?
Since Tom Baker was my favorite Dr. my favorite companion came from that incarnation; Leela.

Re: Whovians Unite!
I rather liked Leela. I'm also a fan of Sarah Jane of course, and I like Romana II.
Going back to the 60s, I kind of liked Jamie McCrimmon, what little I saw of him.
As for Doctors, I have to say the one I like LEAST is one (Hartnell). I can't say why, but it may just be the "grouchy old man" thing. That said, he had his moments, certainly. I like Two, and really wish I could see more of him (if any of you have recordings of the original transmissions from the late 60s, plz send them to the BBC ASAP ). Three was incredibly interesting, Four was very silly, which worked very well when Douglas Adams became script editor. I've got four more doctors to go through before I hit Eccleston and Tennant, but I really like Tennant too.

Re: Whovians Unite!
I felt the same way about Hartnell at first, but he really grew on me toward the end. Cranky old man, with a hidden heart of gold "my dear boy". Plus, I think he is the only Doctor to threaten a compainion with "a good thrashing over my knee."
You liked Two? I do too, but, he is one of the stoogies forever trapped in time. I think you and Liz will like 5. Joe and I do.
Am I alone in my hatren of McCoy?

Re: Whovians Unite!
New pics of the 11th Doctor's costume!
The jacket is tweed. The shirt seems like a twist on the standard Oxford shirt. Some are saying it's a throwback to Sylvester McCoy's shirt.
The bow tie is accompanied by suspenders (under the jacket).
The pants, being rolled up, are apparently a staple of Hoxton set fashion (London urbanites) and are expected, along with the boots (which are from Prada's autumn/winter collection), to be very in style for the next season.
I'm pretty okay with everything except the bow tie. I just can't do it. But at least the hair is better!
There is your fashion rundown for the decade. I promise I won't do that to you again

Re: Whovians Unite!
They're thinking maybe a Halloween release...if not that, then it'll be in November. They won't release the air date until a week before. At least that's what they did with Planet of the Dead.

Re: Whovians Unite!
By the way...
A few messages back you have a picture of the new Doctor. The guy reminds me of the skinny agent from the show Criminal Minds. Do you know who (pun not intended) I speak of?

Re: Whovians Unite!
She did. And she did for the fifteen minutes before it as well, actually. They really went for the drama.
