The new DC animated movie based on the Loeb/McGuinness story Public Enemies hit the stores Tuesday, and I have to say, it may be one of my favorites.

The story was fairly true to the source, with only a few characters and plot points trimmed, and one plot point changed, believe it or not, for the better:

True, but that's all she showed up in the book too. And it was true to the comic. I literally applauded when I saw it. Very Happy

Should I read the comic before I see the movie?

That's a tough call. Personally, I'd watch the movie first, but keep in mind it's an adaptation, not a translation, of the comic. I have to disagree with Joe and say that it's quite a bit different than the book. I have to say, I like the comic better, but the movie was pretty kick-a. Super!

Well now, wait just a minute GK, you said in your previous post it was "true to the comic", then you said it was "quite a bit different than the book".. Make up your mind! Smile

OK, OK, let me clarify... Smile

The scene with Batman and Shiva was true to the comic. There were parts that were exactly the same. Overall though, it departs from the comic in a lot of ways. I'd list them, but I don't want to spoil it for people that might read it in the future (and I don't know how to do those spoiler clickies) Smile
