Trek Lit
The post-Nemesis (post-DS9 finale, post-Voyager finale) novels in the Trek `verse are, with a few exceptions, all supposedly a cohesive on-going world (much like the SW EU tries to be) - with stories and events in one novel of one "crew" affecting or referencing other on-going stories (and apparently the new STMMO will carry this on farther in the future).
And...
I forgot why I wanted to bring this up and start the thread beyond general discussion (dang work distracting me from posting on the internet!!)

Re: Trek Lit
Yes I've rediscovered Trek novels. It seems the publishers/authors realize the power that Babylon 5 had with prolonged story arc driven plots. The Trek novels you point out are certainly inspired by Babylon 5. For example main characters are FINALLY allowed to really evolve. For example Picard and Beverly Crusher getting hitched and (as of Star Trek:Destiny:Gods Of Night) expecting a child. Looking forward to the Star Trek:Enterprise:Romulan War series starting in October

Yep! And expecting. As are Riker and Troi onboard the Titan.
And Ezri is captain of an experimental slipstream-drive starship...
Any other spoilers? :-)

Ah...
Ezri Dax (From DS9). After Jadzia Dax (Worfs wife) died, her symbiote got transplanted into an annoying little junior counselor whelp of an ensign during the last season of the show. She eventually switched over to the command track, and that bore fruit later in the novels.

I remember her dying, but not the re-implatation part..
Khalar and Jadzia... it just doesn't pay to be Worf's woman... *shakes head*

Re: Trek Lit
The exciting thing about the novels is that they are going further into the future. I am really looking forward to the books that take place after Romulus was destroyed and Spock Prime vanished (this could be a big deal, given his Elder Statesman Status). Plus, there is the whole deal of Vulcan getting slapped on the hand by the Federation for not being more helpful to the Romulans when the Hobus Star went nova. Ambassador Picard has his work cut out for him.
I hope that they will do a new chronology.
