Wrath Of Kahn Comic Book Adaptation - June 10

IDW Publishing is releasing the Wrath Of Kahn comic book on June 10. Sure it has been 27 frakkin years since the film was in theaters, but hey its Wrath Of Kahn. Sad that Paramount could not have been more on the bay back in 1982 and done more merchandising with Wrath Of Kahn. After all it had the most potential for toys, comics, games, models. Well I guess we had TMP to blame for Paramount's fear of profit loss on WOK merchandising. Now we have a whole array of items to buy. But still it would have been so much fun back in 1982 to have a Reliant toy ship fighting a Enterprise toy ship. Not to mention a Kahn action figure with Milton quoting button. Sigh...

Just get the recently released Hot Wheels ships and rip open a Playmates Khan figure.. Relive the childhood that never was!

Actually I think a Khan wearable plastic chest would have been a great toy, like those Hulk and Wolverine chests you see today.

Apparently, despite urban legends and rumors, that WAS Montalban's real chest.

The success of the Trek reboot has made it possible. A sequel is in the early stages of pre-production. It seems that Kahn is indeed going to be reinvented for the next film due in 2011. Seems Paramount paid attention to The Dark Knight's Joker and has green-lit a rethinking of Kahn. So one might expect to see Kahn's chest again - only now with an off-beat and edgier look.
