Fox still hates Futurama

So you may have heard that Comedy Central are going to air new episodes of Futurama based on the excellent sales of the DVD movies, right?

Well 30th Century Fox are still the production company, and they don't want to pay the voice actors we know and love. Also, Zoidberg.

"Basically we have never liked Futurama, so we have tried to destroy it at every turn," Fox said in a statement. "When we picked it up originally we put it at the ass-end of Sunday football, so if there was one program that had to be pre-empted, it was Futurama. Then we cancelled it, and we thought we'd won. But those sons of bitches just kept making DVDs and then Comedy Central bought the rights and tried to start it up again. We're confident that hiring no-talent soundalikes to replace the cast will utterly destroy the series at last."

If that's true...holy cow. Fox has just lost one viewer, I can tell you that.

You bastard! I thought that was a real quote. I mean we are talkin Fox here. There is evil and then there is EVIL (for those keeping score Fox falls under the latter). They tease us with good fare like Firefly, Terminator, Futurama - but then yank it all away. Fox is like the bully of glass teet networks. Fox just doesn't get it. I thnk its their agenda to ruin free-thinking high brow shows disguised as low brow animation. Yes that's it. They grab their shares/ratings and then run away like its all some form of Capture The Flag. Or perhaps like the bully that pulls our collective underwear into a wedgey and then running away

I admit, I thought it sounded a bit snarky for a major network comment, but I bought it hook line and sinker. I say again, well done.

UPDATE:

The entire main cast(Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Maurice LaMarche, and Tress MacNeil ) has agreed to come back. Still no word on Phil Lamarr (Hermes) and Lauren Thom (Amy)
