The key screenwriter and producer of many classic sci-fi films has died. Dan O'Bannon was one of the key screenwriters and producers of ALIEN and too many other titles to list. He died of Crohn's Disease. His wife stated that her husband's disease was inspiration for the chestburster in ALIEN.
