In another reality on September 13, 1999 the moon was ripped free from orbiting Earth and flung ever deeper into the interstellar void...

On the surface of the moon was a lunar colony of 311 people. The name of the colony was Moonbase Alpha...

Some viewers tend to call Space:1999 a 'Star Trek wanna-be'. Others like myself found Space:1999 more interesting than Star Trek. Trek was optimistic. While Space:1999 seemed to find itself feeding off the cynicism of the 1970s.

Does anyone out there remember this series? Tell us your thoughts...
